Initiative Description: The concept was developed during the Local Food Leader and Community Food System pilot training held in Elgin in May 2018 (by Iowa State University). Representatives from around Texas expressed strong interest in a statewide collaborative that would leverage our talent to create a strong, resilient and equitable food system in Texas. A prerequisite for developing the collaboration is to develop and implement an "Equity in Food Systems" training for Texas.
